  1. I was a part of the 100 group. We were the people who portrayd the black people. Every place that we went we were forced to wait or were given some type of hassel. When we went to the office they had to check to make sure that we were even supposed to have the envelope.

Our group was strongly discriminated against and it was extremely frustrating. We had to go through a lot more than the other group had to go through. I think that if your life was like that it would be extremely enfuriating to be treated like a 2nd class citizen and not being able to exercise all of your "privelges".

After this activity i felt as though i were inferior just because of my number. i think if i had lived in the time that we are learning about and were black, i would have felt very bad, and angry that just because of the way i was born, i had to wait and didn't get the same amount of respect as other people. i felt verry mistreated and i felt as though i should have to act inferior just to get what i needed.
i think that having to act acertain way just to get what you need is sad. also, having to listen to people that don't respect you is also a sad situation to be in. i think it is sad that the golden rule, do onto others as you would have them do to you, doesn't apply for whites to blacks. back then the white people could do whatever they wanted to the black people and they wouldn't get in trouble or have a trial. though, if a black person did the same things a white person did to them, they would most likely be killed or have an extremely unfair trial.

  3. When we first started out i quickly got frusterated because we could not find our paper, and as we went on i got even more frusterated. Teachers were ignoring us and not treating us fairly and would not help us until the last minute after we had said many "pleases, sirs, and ma'ams". Some teachers were out, and for one instance a teacher walked away from us. I felt it was unjust and unfair.

I think this activity taught me a little about what it felt like to be discriminated against. It showed us for a couple of minutes what it was like to be a black person in the segregated times. It showed me how frusterating and unfair it could be if only for just a few minutes

  5. JAVIER WAZ HERE: (300)
Throughout the activity many people were acting verey kind to us. They showed us respect and kindness. It made me feel accepted and liked. It didn't take us a very long time to find all of the envelopes because they were very easy to find and well placed.
The people who were in the 100 group weren't treated as well. They were treated worce and had to wait a long time. All of there envelopes were hidden. I learned how the white and the black people must have felt and how they must have been treated. The black people had to go through so many more things for a common task.

i was part of the 300 group.i guess we were the people that represented the white people during the civil rights movement.when we did the activity we did not have any trouble. we went through with ease.

first we went to the spanish class. than we went to the benches. after that we went to the library. next we went to the art room. lastly the office.

  7. i was part of the 100's group and it was really hard to get the task accomplished. when we went to the different teacher's classes we were treated like crap and they got really angry with us. one of the teacher's asked us what group we were from and when we told her that we were in the 100 group she immediatley asked what we had done and started getting angry. they also made us wait so that they could teach the white kids before us. their whole demeanor changed when they found out we were 100s.
if i had gone into this activity and i hadn't known that we were talking about segregation i would have been really angry.(because we knew that we were the blacks we were able to prepare ourselves for the rest of it) but i can't even imagine living like this, especially for the black children. if right from the second you were born you were told that you're worth nothing and are second-rate, there's no going back. you're going to go through life and after a while you will actually start believing it. there is no excuse for treating someone differently and with less respect because of their race (or number).

  8. As a part of the 100 group, I didn't realize at first we were purposely supposed to be behind due to other people. It was frustrating to not be able to be where the other group was just because other people were "discriminating" against us.

If I were treated like this in real life, I can only imagine how much more hard and frustrating life would be. Not only would people genuinely discriminate against me make activities in life more difficult, but it would also be deeply offensive to me as a person.

  9. at the beginging it was really easy.our first card was right in front of us. then when we went to the spanish teacher she thought we were 100 and started to treat us poorly. i felt really ocnfused. then when we tol her we were 300 she was really really nice.

after that we went to the art room and she was really nice it made us feel graet. after that we went to the library and he said nice things about how we jumped and to come back again. next we went to the office and she nicley gave us it. but there was a question that said how many community hours do you need to graduate but then shes like o well you dont have to answer it. overall everyone was extreemly nice.

  10. Overall, this activity made me feel as if I was a true 300. The activity was easy on my side and I was given things without struggle. This was a way to represent the whites and blacks.

The first stop was the spanish class. We were ridiculed at first so we told her we were 300 and she gave it to us with no problem (we also recieved hugs). Then we went to the benches and we were given it without a problem again. Then the Art teacher had us go out of the room into the courtyard to grab the next envelope where it was hung on the wall. The library had to be the most difficult, we had to jump 3 times! Then we went to the office and we recieved it with no trouble... AGAIN! Overall, way to easy and I learned that I am loved.
